About Our School
The Northwest Area Learning Center (NWALC) is an alternative high school for students ages 14 through 20 who are:

Credit deficient from their home high school and are in jeopardy of not graduating on time with their class and or have not graduated with their class and wish to continue their high school education.

Are pregnant and or have a child or are the parent of a child and wish to graduate from high school.

Suffer from mental health and or anxiety and cannot function within the typical high school.
The NWALC is a state-approved area learning center serving Pennington, Marshall, and Red Lake Counties.
The NWALC provides a structured environment to encourage academic, social, and personal growth.
The mission of the Northwest Area Learning Center is to provide an alternative approach to a traditional education that will help students achieve success in developing individual skills as well as promoting life long learning.
